You might be big and strong or small and wiry, but do you know how tough you really are? Visitors who want to test their mettle come to the Red Deer region and take part in totally unique adventures that challenge them while they’re making memories.

It’s hard to beat the Ranchtracker at Red Deer’s Heritage Ranch. Teams are dropped into an unknown location and are chased down by a rider on horseback. If they reach four sites before the man in the saddle finds them, they win.

Visitors can see what it feels like to fly through the air like a superhero when they don a Canadian JetPack Adventure at Sylvan Lake. Riders are propelled up to 15 m (49 ft) in the air and can dive like a dolphin below the water’s surface. Other locations include Cold Lake, Gull Lake, Jackfish Lake and Wabamun Lake.

Canada’s largest mud obstacle race event, Mud Hero Alberta, will be held at Canyon Ski Resort, Alberta’s largest non-mountain ski resort, August 5-7, 2016. There will be more than 17,000 participants, massive amounts of mud and challenging obstacles followed by an epic after-race party. After the showers, of course.
